Abstract

This study focuses on the design of a cement production plant in the city of Manta, using plastic waste from the city as raw material. The main objective is to reduce the amount of plastic waste in the region, while contributing to environmental and economic sustainability. An exhaustive analysis of plastic waste generation and management in Manta was carried out, evaluating the availability and quality of these waste materials for use in cement production. A production process was designed taking into account technical and technological aspects, and the infrastructure and machinery requirements for the plant were identified. The results show the viability of the project, highlighting its environmental, social, and economic benefits, positioning it as a comprehensive and sustainable solution for waste management in the region.
