El ingreso de los buques carreros y su impacto económico en la ciudad de Manta, periodo 2018 – 2023.

Abstract

The economic impact of the arrival of car carrier vessels to the port of Manta in the period from 2018 to 2023 was investigated. The objective was to analyze this impact by evaluating its magnitude in income, profitability and investments, identifying the sectors of the local economy affected and the various strategies employed to increase the arrival of such vessels to the city of Manta. A mixed methodological approach with a non-experimental design was used, employing techniques such as documentary analysis and literature review. Throughout the period 2018-2023, the arrival of car carrier vessels to the port of Manta has experienced various challenges and opportunities in a very volatile global context. However, improvements in port infrastructure, trade agreements and diversification of trade routes have positively influenced various sectors of the local economy.
