Los huérfanos del femicidio: Mecanismos de reparación eficaz en el estado ecuatoriano.

Abstract

Femicide is one of the most extreme manifestations of gender-based violence, with severe consequences for the victims' children, who are left in a state of orphanhood and vulnerability. This research examines the effectiveness of comprehensive reparation mechanisms in Ecuador, focusing on public policies and the current regulatory framework. The study analyzes the implementation and scope of the Orphanhood Grant, highlighting limitations in its coverage and the provision of complementary psychological, educational, and social support measures. Through a qualitative and quantitative approach, deficiencies in inter-institutional coordination and access to justice for children orphaned by femicide are identified. The findings underscore the need to strengthen comprehensive reparation strategies with a sustainable approach, ensuring effective protection for this vulnerable population and compliance with international human rights standards and the principle of the best interests of the child.
