Resumen : In the present research work, the influence of the width of the equivalent strut on the seismic response of reinforced concrete framed structures with infill masonry was studied, this is because the equivalent strut method is one of the methodologies mostly used for the modeling of masonry. The modeling of 2D frames was carried out using the finite element method to know the lateral stiffness of systems with and without masonry in order to determine a reference strut width based on the rigidities obtained, this was compared with the strut width obtained by equations found in the literature. 3D structures of 2,4,6,8 floors were analyzed seismic in which the width of the strut calculated from the equations of Holmes, Paulay & Priestley, FEMA, Crisafulli and Michailidis was incorporated, comparing the seismic response of each case. with that granted by the width of the reference strut. According to the 2D models, the Holmes equation is required to provide values close to the reference value when the masonry has a height-length ratio of 1:1 and 1:25, while the Paulay & Priestley equation is close to the reference value when the masonry has a height – length ratio of 1:50 and 1:75. According to the 3D models, it was determined that the width of the strut has an influence on the seismic response of the frame structures because variations in the width of the strut represent a direct change in displacements, drifts, periods and rigidities. When applying the aforementioned equations to obtain the width of the strut, differences were presented, which may be minimal, being less than 5%, or considerable, having differences greater than 50% with respect to the reference value.
Descripción : En el presente trabajo de investigación se estudió la influencia del ancho del puntal equivalente en la respuesta sísmica de estructuras aporticadas con mampostería de relleno, esto debido a que el método de puntales equivalentes es una de las metodologías mayormente utilizadas para el modelamiento de mamposterías.
