This study aimed to analyze the feasibility of implementing circular business models in small enterprises located in the Mutre Afuera community belonging to the Tosagua canton. Through the application of tools such as surveys and interviews, the current characteristics of the selected enterprises were diagnosed. Subsequently, proposals for circular business models were designed and evaluated considering factors such as the availability of local raw materials and the demand for products and services. The results obtained show that the implementation of circular models in this context presents challenges mainly related to the lack of knowledge about the circular economy, the limited availability of financial resources and the scarcity of adequate infrastructure for waste treatment. However, significant opportunities were also identified, such as the possibility of generating added value from local resources and strengthening relationships between the different actors in the community. In the discussion, the importance of considering the socioeconomic and cultural context of the community when designing and implementing circular business models is highlighted. Furthermore, the need to establish strategic alliances between entrepreneurs, government institutions and civil society organizations to facilitate the transition to a circular economy is emphasized. In conclusion, the study shows that the transition to circular business models in small rural enterprises is a complex process that requires adequate technical and financial support. However, the potential benefits in terms of environmental economic and social sustainability make this a valuable strategy for the development of rural communities such as Mutre Afuera.es
