Abstract

This thesis presents the development of a web-based platform for managing the processes and documents required before thesis defenses. The goal is to improve and control the procedures currently carried out before the defenses, including the necessary documents, assignments, and the review of thesis documents by the defense committee. The platform is designed to verify whether students have completed all the required documents and uploaded their thesis work so that the supervising professor and committee members can review it before the defense. Through a qualitative approach and an interview, we gathered the necessary data regarding the process we focused on. Based on the responses, we identified a process flow to work with and defined all the requirements needed to develop and implement the various functionalities. The development was carried out using a microservices architecture, employing NATs technology as the communication medium through a Docker container. This approach enabled the creation of a lightweight yet highly scalable program, both vertically and horizontally.
