Implementación de un sistema de control de accesos mediante módulos biométricos y tarjeta RFID de los laboratorios de la Carrera de Agroindustria de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Vida y Tecnología de la Uleam

Abstract

The objective of this project is the implementation of an access control system using biometric modules and RFID cards in the laboratories of the Agroindustry course of the Faculty of Life Sciences and Technologies of ULEAM. The need to improve security in the laboratories arises due to the unregulated access of users, which puts the equipment and educational resources at risk. The proposal is based on the integration of advanced technologies: biometrics, for the identification of users through fingerprints, while RFID cards allow fast and secure access through the reading of electronic cards, in addition to speeding up access without physical contact; these technologies were chosen for their effectiveness in guaranteeing precise and secure access control, restricting entry only to authorized personnel. The methodology used in this project includes data collection through surveys and interviews with teachers, students and administrative personnel. The surveys allow us to know the needs of the users with respect to the access control system. The interviews, on the other hand, provide a more in-depth perspective on the current security challenges and the expected benefits of the new system. With the implementation of the system, it is expected to significantly improve the security of the laboratories by allowing better access control, this project will contribute to the creation of a more secure and controlled academic space, aligned with best practices in technology and security.
