Resumen : | This thesis was carried out by integrating IoT technologies such as ESP32 microcontrollers with LoRa communication, using soil moisture sensors, solenoid valves and a Raspberry Pi server, with which an automated irrigation system was implemented that optimizes water management and reduces operating costs. In which a system is proposed that includes a drip irrigation model designed to ensure uniform and precise water distribution, minimizing losses due to evaporation or runoff. The technical architecture of the project is made up of sensor nodes connected through LoRa, which send data to the Raspberry Pi server, where they are processed and displayed in real time through a panel accessible to authorized users. In addition, the system integrates historical data analysis functionalities to identify patterns and optimize irrigation cycles. For the applied methodology, documentary research, direct observation and structured surveys are combined. The latter allowed determining the acceptance of the project by the university community, as well as their perception of technical feasibility and sustainability benefits. The results showed a high level of support for irrigation automation, highlighting its potential to reduce resource consumption, improve the aesthetics of the campus and establish a replicable model for other institutions. This project not only represents a technological advance, but also a sustainable initiative that promotes environmental care and innovation in the management of natural resources. It also aims to “introduce ecological awareness into university life” and therefore becomes an essential point for ULEAM to become a pioneer in this type of sustainable projects that can be replicated on various university campuses. |
