Fósforo en la productividad de musa AAB en el Carmen Manabí.

Abstract

The present study was carried out at the experimental farm of the Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí, located in El Carmen, Manabí, with the objective of determining the impact of phosphorus fertilization on the productivity of the plantain crop (Musa AAB). The research focused on evaluating phosphorus use efficiency and analyzing the relationship between phosphorus doses and their influence on crop productivity. A completely randomized block experimental design was used, with five treatments including different phosphorus levels (0, 20, 40, 60 and 80 kg ha-¹) and four replications. Variables such as number of leaves at flowering and harvest, as well as yield per hectare were measured. The results indicated that the different phosphorus doses did not show significant differences in leaf number or yield per hectare, suggesting that phosphorus is not a key factor to improve productivity in this crop under the conditions studied. However, it was observed that a balanced and fractioned fertilization management could be more effective to optimize production.
