Abstract

The present investigation was carried out with the objective of analyzing the fertility of soils dedicated to banana cultivation in the Corpicsupal Corporation, in the canton of El Carmen, for which fertility parameters (macro and micronutrients) obtained from soil analysis and their effect on production variables were evaluated: bunch weight (kg), number of hands and number of fingers. Reporting fertility indicators established by soil analysis of soil, that producers of the Corpicsupal Association, have plots that contain the following values on average: MO (6,39%), NH4 (13,82ppm), P (8,47ppm), K (0,87meq/100g), Ca (10,36 meq/100g), Mg (1,17 meq/100g), S (4,73ppm), Cu (3,58ppm), B (0,40ppm), Fe (119,07ppm), Zn (6,62ppm) and Mn (3,77ppm). When the fertility indicators were related to productive parameters of Barraganete plantain producers, it was determined that there was a strong correlation with the content of macroelements vs. bunch weight in the following order: K (R2= 0.93), NH4 (R2= 0.90) and Ca (R2= 0.88). The number of fingers was highly correlated with K (R2= 0.84) and P (R2= 0.80).
