Abstract

This study addresses the optimization of connectivity in the technical area of the Eloy Alfaro Lay University of Manabí, Chone extension, through the implementation of an external Internet Service Provider (ISP). Currently, the infrastructure lacks load balancers, backup equipment, and advanced security configurations, limiting its performance. The general objective is to implement an external internet service provider (ISP) in the technical area of the Eloy Alfaro Lay University of Manabí Chone extension. The research uses an applied methodology that includes the diagnosis of the existing infrastructure, the design of the network topology, the preparation of a detailed budget and the execution of strategic phases: acquisition of equipment, installation and configuration, and testing with training of technical personnel. Among the main findings, the need for critical components such as a load balancer and a FortiGate-120G firewall is identified, in addition to the importance of technical training of personnel.
