Abstract

The adoption of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practices is crucial for all companies, including micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), which play a significant role in the Ecuadorian economy. In the canton of Chone, there is a wide variety of food distributors, but the degree of implementation of CSR practices in these companies is unknown. This lack of information makes it impossible to assess the social and environmental impact of these companies. MSMEs not only consent to the economy but also have a significant social and environmental impact. Therefore, the need to incorporate CSR practices to promote sustainable development and improve the well-being of the community is raised. Companies have focused mostly on their productivity and competitiveness, without a clear strategy that links economic development with social welfare or environmental sustainability.
