Resumen : Hypertension constitutes a global health problem, with the elderly population being more susceptible to experiencing severe complications if optimal and timely control is not maintained. Objective: To analyze, through bibliographic reviews, the presence of predisposing factors in older adults that lead to uncontrolled arterial hypertension. Methodology: A bibliographic review was conducted based on relevant scientific articles that address the issue of uncontrolled hypertension in vulnerable populations. The purpose of this research is to promote comprehensive care and contribute to reducing the morbidity and mortality associated with this disease. Results: The analysis of the consulted sources revealed that the Scielo journal represents the highest percentage, accounting for 56.7% of the total sample reviewed. Information was obtained through journals, books, and educational guides that help to understand the magnitude of the problem. Conclusion: Predisposing factors in uncontrolled arterial hypertension among the elderly significantly affect their quality of life, generating various physical, emotional, and social limitations that compromise their overall well-being. For this reason, nursing staff play a crucial role in the care of these patients, not only in clinical care but also in health education and health promotion. Personalized educational strategies and community activities should be implemented to strengthen knowledge about their life condition. Therefore, it is essential to promote healthy lifestyles and improve therapeutic adherence.
