La responsabilidad penal en adolescentes infractores en el cantón Cayambe, provincia de Pichincha en el año 2020. Análisis teórico-práctico.

Abstract

In the Ecuadorian legal context, it is difficult to discuss the criminal liability of a minor. However, there are procedures specifically designed for minors who have committed offenses classified by law. Therefore, this research aims to analyze, from a theoretical and practical perspective, the criminal liability of juvenile offenders in the Cayambe canton, Pichincha province, in 2020. After applying descriptive and analytical methods, using a qualitative and quantitative approach, providing figures on juvenile offenders in Ecuador and Pichincha in 2020 and comparing these figures with the procedures established by law and the cases studied. It has been concluded that in Ecuador there are processes to determine criminal liability in minors, but there are modifications in both substance and form, reflected in the restorative approach and the nomenclature used, such as when referring to deprivation of liberty as a socio-educational measure. However, does this system really respond effectively to a growing phenomenon in the country?
