Abstract

The current research consists of evaluating the sustainability in the management of community tourism in Salango, Puerto López canton. Sustainability in the tourism field has three fundamental pillars: economic, social and environmental, these must be considered and weighed equally, during the development of this activity, thus preventing future complications. Around the methodology used in the project, the analytical-synthetic and inductivedeductive methods are used. As a technique, the survey and interview are used, the questionnaire is applied to 108 residents of the parish and for the interview the head of the parish is consulted. The results of the survey show that there is a rating of regular, neutral and medium in all the indicators, which means that there is some disagreement among the inhabitants regarding the activities in the Salango Community Tourism Center. Regarding the interview, a low level of management of the Community Tourism Center is evident. There are also very below average values, with respect to comprehensive security, the role of marketing, promotion strategies, social sustainability and housing, say. The negative aspects do not allow to provide a quality service to the tourist and neither to the local community. In view of this, the presence and participation of the tourist entities of this parish is urgent, so that strategies are used to improve deficiencies, seeking total satisfaction.
