Estudio de la percepción de residentes locales, sobre la puesta en valor del patrimonio cultural del cantón Manta.

Abstract

Tourism is a social, cultural and economic phenomenon that involves the displacement of people to countries or places outside their usual environment for personal, professional or business reasons. Local residents play an important role in the development of tourist activity, since they interact directly with the visitor. The purpose of this project is to study the perception of local residents about the enhancement of the cultural heritage of the Manta canton, in order to preserve their habits, customs and traditions. In this research, documentary analysis was used, where the conservation of cultural heritage will be evaluated. The type of research is, methods, techniques and tools were used such as: bibliographic review and official documents, analytical-synthetic method, surveys, matrices in the Excel program for data processing. In the first phase, an analysis was carried out in bibliographic sources, the second phase exposes the scientific methodology which makes it possible to obtain the results and comply with the objectives set out in this research, therefore, in third stage, the tool validation. The results determined that the cultural heritage of the urban and rural areas is far below the awareness of the inhabitants of the city of Manta. These aspects must be considered in order to enable their conservation.
