Estudio del patrimonio cultural y las posibilidades de aprovechamiento turístico en el cantón Montecristi, provincia Manabí, Ecuador.

Abstract

The present investigative work aims to analyze the possibilities of the tourist use of the Montecristi canton (period 2019). The main idea is to provide an alternative where people interested in learning about the customs and traditions of the Montecristi parish can expand their knowledge, promote and take advantage of tourism in said canton. It is a quantitative and qualitative research, using methods such as field, exploratory and documentary. Heritage is a community priority, which takes on a true meaning when it is assumed by the community itself. Its importance is to enhance the general progress of society, therefore, it is a fundamental instrument for the social redistribution of wealth and for territorial balance, for this it is necessary to carry out a balanced distribution of the cultural assets that the community possesses. It must be borne in mind that being considered a World Heritage Site, whether cultural or natural, is an enormous privilege, since that implies the responsibility to discuss and preserve the selected asset, establish policies and plans for the administration of the heritage in question. Finally, it is concluded that the use of tourism impacts on many aspects such as: tourist and economic development of the city and the recognition of tangible and intangible heritage for notable progress in the canton, taking advantage of the tourist spaces that it has and thus promoting them.
