Estudio del perfil del turista que visita el cantón Montecristi, provincia de Manabí, 2021.

Abstract

The research focuses on carrying out a study to identify the profile of the tourist who visits the Montecristi canton. This will allow us to recognize their demographic characteristics, as well as their tastes and preferences when arriving and visiting the different attractions that this destination has. The methodological approach is quantitative, the empirical and analytical-synthetic methods are used. In addition, the documentary review and the survey questionnaire are applied as a research technique 350 surveys were applied to tourists who come to this town. Through the application of this instrument, it is observed that the majority of tourists who visit Montecristi are women. The age of the visitors ranges from 21 to 42 years old and they have higher education (university). The level of income they receive is between $ 401 to $ 1000. In addition, tourists prefer to travel in the company of their family and spend approximately $ 25 to $ 100 approximately. In relation to tastes and preferences, the vast majority of tourists go to the Museo Centro Cívico Ciudad Alfaro and the Millennial Cerro de Montecristi. Regarding the information on the site, this is obtained through social networks and family references. The results provided in this research will be delivered to the local tourist representatives of the Montecristi canton. These personalities will be in charge of analyzing the information collected and from there evaluating the deficient aspects that do not allow the full development of activities in this locality.
