Perfil del turista que visita Portoviejo durante la pandemia, 2020.

Abstract

The present research work refers to the study of the profile of the tourist who visits the city of Portoviejo in times of pandemic. The problem that was evidenced is that in Portoviejo, tourism has been decreasing due to the serious problems that led to a worldwide confinement caused by the Covid-19 health emergency, which is attributed to the lack of information about the new tourist profile; because there is also no fully developed tourist offer. This destination does not have an efficient tourism program due to the lack of concern on the part of the GAD Portoviejo and other authorities and private companies in offering tourist services according to the needs of tourists who visit the canton in times of pandemic. The objective was to analyze the profile of the tourist who visits the city of Portoviejo during the pandemic, in order to guide the promotion of tourism in this sector. The methodology that was applied had a qualitative approach, using the bibliographic, descriptive and analytical methods, a survey was carried out aimed at tourists where the main result was that it has changed its profile around the current biosecurity needs, and as conclusion, it was determined to always carry out an analysis of the tourist changes in order to determine the profile of the visitors.
