Abstract

Burns can cause limitations or irreversible damage, they are produced by accumulation of local or systemic events; by different agents such as temperature changes, electricity, chemicals or radiation. Occupational therapy together with the rehabilitative framework helps us to seek the maximum possible independence in users with burns. Objective: To identify the importance of the rehabilitative framework in users with burn sequelae. Methodological design: In order to carry out this research, a systematic and descriptive review of articles and original studies from databases such as Google Scholar, Redalyc, Scielo, Dialnet, World Wide Science, Springe Link, Dialnet and Lilacs between the years 2012 - 2022 was carried out. Results: The analysis of the research shows that occupational therapy consists of a variety of interventions that seek to improve independence, self-esteem and activities of daily living in users with burns, not only at the beginning of the treatment but also in the sequelae left by the injury occurred in the individual. Conclusion: The rehabilitation frame of reference helps us in the intervention of users with burns, in order to compensate the underlying deficits, the maximum possible independence in the activities of daily living; to reach the projected objectives it is necessary a correct treatment plan of the occupational therapist and the multidisciplinary team.
