Abstract

The present study was carried out with the purpose of knowing the social and economic affectation of Venezuelan migrants, who have been harmed by the new reality and health emergency Covid-19. We also sought to understand the perception and position of the AVSI Foundation regarding the reception of Venezuelan immigrants in the city of Manta in a position of social disadvantage and their participation in social action projects. This research has a qualitative approach in which, under the theory of phenomenology, the experiences of the key informants were investigated, applying techniques such as the structured interview, with five questions to demonstrate strategies and perceptions in the work of the Foundation with the mobility population. human. What essentially explains how help is offered to Venezuelan immigrants and the realities captured in the process that attest to the needs and economic and social problems that encompasses that community. Three types of interpretation methods were used: Inductive, to understand those realities perceived by the Foundation; Deductive, to explain the peculiarities of the migratory phenomenon and new realities; Descriptive, it served to detail what was observed as the living conditions that Venezuelans have. The results of the research show AVSI's work with immigrants to improve their life status. The current considerations of the key informants, who responded to the Life Story in which social and economic difficulties resulting from their irregular position and the Covid-19 health emergency are demonstrated.
