La desigualdad de género y su incidencia en el acceso a servicios sociales en la parroquia “San Mateo” del cantón Manta, años 2024 – 2025.

Abstract

This project called "Gender inequality and its impact on access to social services in the San Mateo parish of the Manta canton, years 2024 - 2025" provides a look at the inequality that is generated at the parish level and how it affects the quality of services, in the same way it covers the gender gaps that affect the equitable exercise of rights in areas such as health, education, employment. This study that aims to determine the impact of gender inequality on access to social services in the parish of San Mateo, for this a quantitative approach has been used, methods such as deductive and documentary were applied, supported with the technique of surveys, which were directed to a sample of 300 inhabitants of the parish. The results show a marked perception of discrimination and inequality towards the female gender and LGBTIQ+ people, especially in the workplace and in access to basic services, the research also concludes that gender inequality continues to be a limiting factor for the social development of the parish, since there are various barriers at the level of different areas when accessing quality health services, decent jobs and equitable education, therefore, are the traditional social structures, stereotypes and gender roles culturally assigned those that continue to reproduce discriminatory practices that Restrict individual and collective development, so it is recommended to implement public policies with a gender approach.
