Abstract

Therefore, this research project is presented with the main objective of determining whether extreme poverty is related to the limited access to social services among families in this community. This will be achieved through a quantitative methodology, which allows for the analysis and understanding of the research phenomenon by considering numerical data. To collect the necessary data, a survey was used—an essential technique in quantitative research—to learn about the perspectives of the residents of the Cárcel community regarding the phenomenon under study. Most of the surveyed population believes that extreme poverty is highly related to limited access to quality social services in the area. A total of 107 families were surveyed, and they maintain that this phenomenon has various causes, such as economic, social, and cultural factors. Among the main consequences are unemployment and economic inequality.
