This research project analyzes the impact of interdisciplinary work in the pre-professional practices of Social Work students at Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí during the 2024–2025 period. Through a quantitative approach and the application of surveys to interns, it was possible to determine the acquisition of skills necessary to identify and, in the future, intervene in socio-educational problems. The results evidenced the development of key competencies such as teamwork, professional guidance, empathy, mediation, and conflict resolution; these skills were strengthened thanks to interdisciplinary interaction with other professionals who play essential roles in the DECE teams. However, weaknesses were also identified in the use of certain techniques specific to Social Work, such as interviews and home visits, which suggests the need to reinforce accompaniment and supervision during the pre-professional training process. Consequently, it is concluded that interdisciplinary work represents a valuable resource to enhance students’ professional training, although challenges remain regarding academic planning and the effective integration of practical knowledge. This study provides relevant empirical evidence for improving pre-professional practices in the educational field, highlighting the importance of implementing pedagogical strategies aimed at developing soft skills, technical abilities, and professional ethics. Finally, it emphasizes the need to strengthen the links between the university and educational institutions, promoting a more comprehensive, contextualized, and socially committed training for students.es
