Los roles de género y su impacto en la dinámica de la familia contemporánea del barrio los espinos de la ciudad de Montecristi, años 2024-2025.

Abstract

This research project focused on gender roles and their impact on the dynamics of contemporary families in the Los Espinos neighborhood of Montecristi Canton, years 2024-2025, because it is a topic of growing interest in recent decades as stereotypes and traditional expectations about the behavior of men and women are being questioned. For this reason, this research was conducted with the objective of determining the impact of gender roles on contemporary family dynamics in the Los Espinos neighborhood of Montecristi canton. For this purpose, a descriptive and correlational quantitative methodology was used, employing the deductive method, and information was collected through an online survey of the inhabitants of this sector with a sample of 220 people. The analysis of the results obtained allowed reaching an integral vision of the situation, where it was possible to analyze that gender roles have a significant impact on the dynamics of families, in particular that these social constructions influence the distribution of domestic tasks, decision making and the way in which household members relate to each other. According to the results, it was concluded that, although certain traditional practices persist in the Los Espinos sector, gender roles have been progressively transforming, giving way to more equitable family models where both men and women actively participate in household responsibilities, child rearing and decision-making processes.
