Resumen : The current research is titled: "Migration and Family Fragmentation: A Perspective on Venezuelan Families in Manta, 2024." The main objective of the analysis was to understand the impact of the migration process on the disintegration of Venezuelan families living in Manta, based on their individual experiences. The issue focuses on forced migration, which has caused the physical and emotional separation of thousands of Venezuelan families, causing ruptures in their structure and affecting their functional and emotional dynamics. This type of fragmentation often arises when there are political crises, extreme poverty, forced departures, or laws that make it difficult to reunite. What remains afterward are difficult-to-sustain emotions such as guilt, sadness, or the feeling of not fully belonging. Therefore, we spoke with Venezuelan migrants living in Manta and also with a psychosocial professional, and thus were able to understand how this reality is experienced on a daily basis and also how it is addressed by those who closely accompany them. Among the most relevant findings, it was identified that family separation significantly impacts the emotional well-being of its members, distorts traditional roles, and requires constant adaptation to new situations. It is concluded that family disintegration is a direct consequence of forced migration, leaving deep emotional and social scars on those who experience it, both in the host country and in the country of origin.
