Abstract

This research project focuses on the analysis of the tourist profile of the Manta canton, located on the Ecuadorian coast, which is a very relevant tourist destination due to the great variety of natural attractions that the canton has. It is an attractive destination for its beaches, culture, festivities, and its gastronomy. Tourists who choose Manta look for activities outside their daily life, such as recreational and leisure ones. They are attracted by the importance of cultural events and enriching festivities that feed their experience at the destination. The methodological design is a mixed, qualitative and quantitative approach, which seeks to describe, analyze, and interpret said profile through techniques such as the structured survey and the data analysis technique, which involves demographic and psychological factors. These will allow us to collect data for the analysis of the tourist profile of the Manta canton, considering various variables that may affect the experience and behavior of the tourist. This profile will allow the authorities and hotel, restaurant, and transportation business owners, among others, to design strategies to improve the tourist offer and thus meet the expectations of visitors, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of the Manta canton.
