Abstract

This research paper, titled "Decentralization of Media to Promote Informational Diversity," addresses the diverse opinions that exist in today's society, as is the case at AXAB Port in Manta, Ecuador. The concentration of media outlets in a small number of participants limits the plurality of perspectives and hinders the democratization of information. The research aims to analyze how media decentralization can promote informational diversity at AXAB Port, fostering a more equitable and participatory environment. This study is divided into several sections: background, problem definition, justification, theoretical framework, methodological framework, objectives, results, conclusions, recommendations, and a proposed solution applicable to the organizational situation. A mixed approach—descriptive, exploratory, and documentary—was used, encompassing surveys, interviews, and observation sheets for both staff and management at the port. This facilitated the collection of both qualitative and quantitative information that provides insight into the company's internal communication situation. Therefore, the results indicate that the majority of staff perceive it as important to decentralize communication channels to promote more active participation. However, it was also identified that a certain proportion of employees have not collaborated in content creation, which reveals certain limitations in the inclusion of communication. This situation highlights the need to establish more participatory and effective channels that foster a two-way flow of information between different hierarchical levels, thus strengthening AXAB's internal communication.
