Abstract

This research paper is based on the characteristics of corporate information for decision-making in the sardine processing area. It is evident that there is a lack of adequate management of corporate information that can influence the achievement of objectives and goals, limiting decision-making. Therefore, this research project focuses on the institutional context, with the main objective of analyzing the characteristics of corporate information that allow for the identification of its impact on the decision-making process at INEPACA S.A Corporate information is regarded as a fundamental component in organizational decision-making. Proper management of this information, supported by information technology systems, plays a crucial role in enhancing both internal and strategic processes. Sound decisions rely on accurate and trustworthy data, accompanied by critical analysis and sound judgment, with the quality of the decision-making process being a decisive factor in the outcomes achieved. This study adopted a qualitative approach, applying a case study in the sardine processing department of INEPACA S.A., with a focus on corporate information management. Interviews served as the primary data collection method, targeting key personnel in the area through a non-probability sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using inductive, deductive, analytical, and synthesis methods, enabling an understanding of the current situation and the identification of factors that influence decision-making. Findings revealed that information management within the sardine processing area is in an incomplete stage of transition. While its importance is acknowledged, the lack of technological tools and training hinders its strategic application, underscoring the need for a digital transformation to strengthen decision-making. Based on these results, a proposal is presented to implement technological solutions that will improve corporate information management and optimize decision-making processes in the company’s sardine processing department.
