Abstract

This research analyzes the use of Power BI as a digital tool that contributes to decision-making in the Department of Quality Management and Assurance at the Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí (ULEAM) during the year 2024. The research arose from the need to optimize academic evaluation processes and ensure high quality standards established by the Higher Education Quality Assurance Council. A qualitative approach was used for the research, with data collection instruments such as interviews with key personnel and the Department's Self-Assessment and Assurance Analyst, to explore the impact of Power BI on data visualization and analysis. The results reveal that Power BI facilitates the generation of interactive reports, data segmentation, and real-time visualization, significantly improving informed decision-making. However, potential improvements were identified, such as the quality of data sources and the need for ongoing training to maximize the tool's use.
