Comparación de técnicas serológicas en la evaluación de bovinos infectados por Brucella abortus en el cantón Chone.

Abstract

Livestock is one of the main livestock activities that takes place in the Chone canton, being one of the main sources of income and food for the majority of families residing in the place, diseases within a livestock are a great challenge for producers since they are not only summarized in a good diet but in a number of guidelines that ensure correct sanitary and reproductive management within livestock, guaranteeing animal welfare and guaranteeing the minimization of diseases, brucellosis is a zoonotic infection that generates large losses within the cattle herd, since it causes problems at the reproductive and productive level within the farms, for the evelopment of this research the main objective was to compare two serological techniques in bovines infected by Brucella abortus in the Ricaurte parish, The diagnosis of the presence of Brucella abortus was made using the Rose Bengal and Elisa serological techniques, in addition to determining the percentage of prevalence of brucellosis, later a comparison of both techniques was made taking into account the advantages and disadvantages of each one. , 150 samples were taken which were obtained from animals that presented reproductive problems or had abortions, which were all negative, yielding a prevalence of 0% within the research site; the comparison of serological techniques could not be carried out since all the samples were negative, in addition the methodology of both techniques is different due to the difference between their specificity and sensitivity.
