Cuentos y Refranes: Tradición Oral en Chone para Recuperar la Identidad Cultural.

Abstract

Oral tradition is the backbone that supports the particularities of the Montuvian culture, which distinguishes it from other cultural groups in Ecuador. These oral traditions are at progressive risk of being lost, for this reason, their conservation is the key so that the montuvia manifestations do not disappear. The author of this research took on the challenge of collecting stories and sayings in Chone for the recovery of the cultural identity of the canton. In Chone he interviewed municipal officials, students and teachers from the Eugenio Espejo Educational Unit. The stories and sayings were compiled in the rural and urban areas of the town to publish them in a blog and audios (podcast) on YouTube. It was considered to use the qualitative approach with the experimental deductive method. The population corresponds to students, officials, adults and teachers specialized in the topic of oral traditions, the sample used is thirty people. The results obtained in this research indicate that the loss of oral traditions in Chone is partial, especially in the urban area. The situation is getting worse, despite the fact that, in recent years, educational institutions and the municipality have been working with cultural programs to mitigate the problem. Finally, this research opens spaces for new studies and helps the conservation of stories and sayings through its blog to preserve the cultural identity of the Chone canton.
