Abstract

The formulation of this thesis as "Strategies for the recovery of the Landscape in Urban Rivers, case study: Burro River, Jocay sector of the city of Manta" aims to be a comprehensive analysis of urban reality. In this area of the city there are urban, social and environmental conditions in which poor environmental conditions, habitability and urban degradation have contributed to the deterioration of the quality of life of urban rivers, where an integrated systematic process was used where it was clarified the level of understanding, the level of transformation and the steps that were developed were the following: Research, Programming and Strategy Development. The main objective of the work is to propose landscape recovery strategies for urban rivers in the city, and some examples of interventions for urban rivers around the world, as well as in the national environment. This was considered, understanding and reflecting on these projects to develop a methodology applicable to the local environment. This methodology establishes a starting point to analyze the problem area, focusing on natural and anthropological factors. The results of this previous analysis lead to suggest a hypothetical idea characterized by the formation of an ideal image of the space to intervene and thus the generalization in the basic strategies that intervene in similar projects that meet the characteristics of this occupation. The approach of these criteria was developed so that it is not only a local indicator, but can be used anywhere in the world.
