dc.description.abstractThis research was carried out with the objective of evaluating the effect of the cutting age on the fibrous content of Clone 51 grass (Pennisetum sp), on the grounds of the Pinar of Río farm, where the company Agro Dimeza de el Ing. Diego Mendoza located, which is located at km 29 via Chone - Santo Domingo, on the right bank. The property has an average temperature of 24.5 ºC, humid tropic bioclimatic classification, irregular topography, and altitude 260 meters above sea level, annual rainfall 2.806 mm, relative humidity 75-85%, and heliophany 1026,2 light hours per year, natural drainage. A completely randomized block experimental design (DBCA) was used, with three treatments (70, 80 and 90 days of cutting) and 7 repetitions, giving a total of 21 plots of 6 m2 per experimental unit. Using a machete, the grass was cut to a height of 20 cm and a 500 g sample was taken to send to the AGROLAB laboratory in the city of Santo Domingo de Tsachilas, to determine the content of cell wall components, this is Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF), Acid Detergent Fiber (FDA) and Acid Detergent Lignin (LDA). The results indicate that at 80 days of cutting the lowest values are obtained in the fibrous components (FDN: 55.83% FDA: 35.42% and LDA: 4.08%) while the highest averages in FDN (58.17%) and FDA (37.03%) were reached with 70 days of cut-off, for LDA (4.79%) the highest value was presented at 90 days of cut-off.es
