Factores que inciden en la variación del precio de la caja de plátano barraganete (Musa paradisiaca) de exportación en el Cantón El Carmen.

Abstract

A consultative research work was established in the canton of El Carmen, province of Manabí, as it is the cradle of the production of barraganete banana in Ecuador, in which surveys were carried out on the producers of the fruit, with the objective of determining the factors that affect the variation in the prices of a box of Barraganete bananas for export in El Carmen; For this, the sale price of the banana box and the factors that influence the price variation were established as a variable; The data was obtained from the producers of the canton that according to the MAGAP there are approximately 5000 producers of barraganete plantain, for this the sample determination formula was used; Once the information obtained was compiled, the information was organized through office automation programs for its respective analysis. The results obtained determined that the production of a box of bananas for export during the winter is 49.07, while in the summer it decreases to 28 boxes on average, on the other hand, the price during the winter remains at $6.30 and for the summer increases to $9.00; For the analysis of the price during the last 5 years, it was found that the banana box suffered an increase during 2018 in which a minimum support price of $7.30 was made official to maintain sustainable activity, values that remain until today In relation to the factors, the most determinant in the price is generated by the intermediaries and the supply and demand according to the producers.
