Tuvo como objetivo identificar las potencialidades que deben aprovechar los productores para agregar valor a sus productos. Se aplicó una encuesta a 43 productores, los cuales fueron seleccionados mediante un muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia.es
dc.description.abstractThe research was carried out in La Manga del Cura in the Paraíso-La Catorce parish, in the canton of El Carmen, in the province of Manabí, Ecuador. Its objective was to identify the potential that producers should take advantage of to add value to their products. A survey was applied to 43 producers, who were selected through a non-probabilistic sampling for convenience. The results obtained were contrasted using the contingency table and to determine the correlation coefficient, the Pearson test was used for p≤0.05. In t he potential of the producers to develop the agroindustry, it was determined that 58.1% are medium farms of 6 - 15 ha, training for the producers is imminent and 93.0% of the producers grow cocoa. Providing added value to productions is limited by the low level of application of cultural tasks such as irrigation and mechanization. As a post-harvest routine, basic benefit processes are carried out on the products, these are mostly sold to intermediaries and retail outlets; interest in training and access to investment funds is high. The interest in the creation and diversification of a packaged and labeled product for marketing can enhance the agro-industrial development of the area. There are no trends associated with years of experience or the size of the farm, so it is considered that it is necessary to work in the same way with all producers to ensure that they achieve their goals.es
