Análisis de costos de producción de carne porcina con diferentes sistemas de producción en el cantón El Carmen-Manabí.

Abstract

The production costs allow determining the incidence and importance of the investments related to the inputs or products that are used in the pork production systems; A research work was carried out in the pig farms of the El Carmen canton, Manabí province with the purpose of describing the production costs of pork with different production systems in the El CarmenManabí canton, for this the pig farms of the city and the three production systems: artisanal for small producers, semi-technified for medium-sized producers, and technified for large producers; the experimental units were each pig producer surveyed, the results were analyzed in comparison of the three production systems. The analysis of the results found in the survey shows that the majority of producers (83%) use commercial feed for pigs, while 66% use banana peel or another supplement in food, animals more employees in fattening come from cross breeds with Creoles in quantities greater than 100 animals in 50% of the farms and less than 100 pigs in the other 50% of producers; In the economic analysis of the productive systems, the technified one presents better results in terms of meat productivity per day and lower production costs ($1.88) per kg of meat, food represents between 62% and 70% of the production costs.
