Percepción del confort térmico en los espacios públicos de la Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí.

Abstract

The thermal comfort in the exterior spaces of the universities, determine the percentage of occupation and permanence of the students, for this reason the design of the public spaces in the ULEAM (UNIVERSIDAD LAICA ELOY ALFARO DE MANABI MANTA) must consider the different climatic variables that are typical of the city of Manta, the materiality of the elements that make them up and the location within the university campuses. The determination of the comfort of the public spaces of the ULEAM is carried out through user surveys according to the thermal sensation evaluated in seven points that vary from very hot to very cold, based on the thermal sensation scale of ISO 7730 (2005), in addition to the characteristics of the space such as vegetation, materiality in floors and urban furniture are considered and it is allowed to know aspects of the human being such as clothing, gender, age and their knowledge about the concept of thermal comfort. The results obtained in this research may be used for the design or adaptation of public spaces, either educational or general in cities with similar climates to the analyzed, favoring the interaction and comfort of users in them.
