Abstract

The study area was considered due to the latent problem of territorial degradation, proposed as investigative work prior to the qualification, which is defined within the theme: Urban Regeneration Project, for the Recovery and Reduction of Vulnerable Spaces in the Citadel Briones of the San Pablo Parish of the Portoviejo Canton It is framed in relation to the effects caused by settlements informally developed in mountain ecosystems, as a social and environmental problems for creating a habitat in risk areas, the which increased without the implementation of the necessary urban equipment. The guidelines as a field of action are directed or main constitutes the diagnosis of the problem of disorganization territorial and urban degradation of the territory and environmental in the study site, based on the requirements, prepare a regeneration proposal urban and vulnerability reduction. The study method emphasized the application of observation techniques and collection of information, since the investigation started from the observation of particular facts, in order to reach conclusions general, and then the collection of information that supports what was observed, through the application of surveys to the people who live in the study sector. The result of this research became the baseline for the preparation of a project for the regeneration of the place, with the aim of turn it into a tourist spot in the city that contributes to revitalizing its identity and improve the living conditions of society.
