Estudio de seguridad física para conexiones de fibra óptica en proveedores de internet: cantón El Carmen.

Abstract

The work carried out has evidenced a deficit in the use of the norms and laws that determine the correct form of physical security and connections of the aerial fiber optic cabling, therefore a general objective is determined which is to carry out the study of physical security for fiber optic connections in internet providers of the canton El Carmen. For the development of the research, it began by bibliographically basing aspects that are included in the development of the topic, related to physical security and fiber optic connections; in the part of the proposal whose objective is to verify the compliance of physical security policies in the fiber optic connections of the companies TeleAlfacom (Alfanet) and CC-NET (NetHome) and determine the level of risk in the connections in the laying of fiber optic network by TeleAlfacom and CC-NET companies, selecting the deductive and inductive methods for its realization, based on ISO / IEC 27002 standards and Arcotel Resolution 2017, an instrument was made with 74 questions for interviews to the suppliers, observation sheets to verify the information and obtain results, from which it was known that the level of compliance with the rules and laws is 78% and the level of risk is low in each of the companies. When obtaining the results in the report, it is proposed to make some suggestions of general rules that will allow companies to have greater physical security by providing fiber optic internet.
