Abstract

Student migration represents a topic of interest for this case because abandoning one's place of origin can represent a significant impact for young people. Under this premise, this work is carried out, the objective of which is to analyze student migration and its impact on drug consumption in students of the Uleam Faculty of Education, Tourism, Arts and Humanities. For this, a quantitative approach methodology, at a correlational level, has been used and 339 individuals have been selected as a sample. Through this it was possible to know that 60% of students in migratory status have experienced feelings of loneliness, 46% have difficulties adapting to the new environment, 55% consider that the absence of parental and family control is influencing their drug consumption, 49% consider academic failure as a risk factor, 49% consider that emotional problems lead to drug consumption and 43% stated that interaction with the social group facilitates exposure and consumption of this type of substances. In conclusion, it can be stated that student migration has a close correlation with drug consumption in the analyzed population.
