Análisis de las zonas francas y su importancia para el comercio exterior ecuatoriano.

Abstract

This research analyzes Free Trade Zones and their importance for Ecuadorian foreign trade. AFTZ is defined as a delimited area within the national territory subject to special regimes where industrial and commercial activities are carried out. The study reveals that, in Ecuador, the presence of FTZs decreased dramatically in 2010, with only three currently existing. To reverse this situation, the Organic Law of Economic Efficiency and Employment Generation was enacted, with the aim of attracting foreign investment, generating employment and promoting economic development. The research, with a qualitative approach and documentary design, seeks to determine the importance of existing FTZs and the potential benefits of creating new FTZs in the country. It is concluded that FTZs can promote competitiveness, investment and employment generation, contributing significantly to Ecuadorian foreign trade.
