Elaboración de un manual de seguridad marítima para embarcaciones menores y la implementación de elementos de seguridad en la embarcación “SANTA GEMA II”

Abstract

The development of the maritime safety manual for small vessels was created with the purpose of instructing not only fishermen but also all individuals in a more educational manner about the basic principles and elements of maritime safety. We focused on the so-called small vessels, as the sporadic advancements that the city of Manta has had in relation to the industrialization of the fishing sector have slightly marginalized the more artisanal vessels. The implementation of these safety elements was carried out on the vessel 'Santa Gema II,' belonging to the Laica Eloy Alfaro University of Manabí. This vessel's main purpose is to serve as an educational and research tool for the students of this prestigious university.
