Abstract

Chilclren with learning disabilities face challenges in the school, social and family environments. This can have repercussions on their integral development. In this scenario, leisure emerges as an essential space to promote their development and quality of life. In this digital era, video games arouse great interest and can complement school learning, helping children to reinforce concepts and academic skills in a playful way, offering multiple benefits and opportunities especially for populations with specific needs. This study, based on a review of scientific literature, aimed to determine the impact of video games as a leisure too[ in children with lcarning disorders, resulting in the conclusion that video games can have a positivc impact bccoming a valuablc tool in occupational thcrapy, providing cognitive, motor, social and emotional benefíts. With proper selection and supervision, video games can enrich the therapeutic process and contribute to the overall development of children with learning disabilities.
