Abstract

Pediatric patients in palliative care face a variety of challenges, including physical, emotional, and social due to the severity of their illnesses. One of the main challenges that children face is pain; It causes fear, anxiety, depression. It causes him to isolate himself from society, locking himself in his own sadness.

Among the functions that Occupational Therapists have in the area of ​​pediatric palliative care is to help children cope with their illness, thus improving their quality of life. Looking for alternatives and methods so that they can develop naturally within the environment that surrounds them.

The World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT) points out that occupational therapy is. a patient-focused health discipline dedicated to promoting health. and well-being through occupation. Its central purpose is to enable people to participate in daily activities. The document analyzes the roles of the occupational therapist in the field of palliative care, highlighting the need for a comprehensive approach that includes the family as a fundamental part of the care process for pediatric patients. This research is based on the contribution of scientific articles with the objective of collecting relevant information to contribute to this systematic review.
