Uso del internet en el comportamiento de los alumnos de 10mo año de los paralelos A, B, C, de educación básica de la unidad educativa “Dr. Luis Aveiga Barberán” periodo lectivo 2024-2025.

Abstract

The use of the internet has had a significant impact on society, transforming the habits, behaviors, and customs of its users, especially among adolescents. These young people are particularly vulnerable due to a lack of information about the positive and negative aspects of the internet, as well as the consequences of its misuse. For this reason, a study was conducted in the city of El Carmen, Manabí, with 10th-grade students from sections A, B, and C of the “Dr. Luis Aveiga Barberán” Educational Unit, with the aim of analyzing how internet access and use influence their behavior patterns. Using a quantitative approach, surveys were designed for both students and teachers, with 80 students and 8 teachers participating. The results indicate that the majority of students have extensive access to social networks, and the time they spend online is not supervised by an adult. This has led to low academic performance and inappropriate behaviors. Additionally, some students report low self-esteem, which is associated with excessive internet use. The teachers pointed out that using the internet in the classroom, with appropriate educational tools and programs, could significantly enhance the teaching-learning process, offering more interesting and effective alternatives for education.
