Abstract

The idea is: to create artistic craft workshops where local youth and adults are taught techniques for carving and modeling these species of wood, and other materials that the parish environment provides them such as the naval shipyard that discards pieces of good wood and so provide another source of work in the sector. For many years the almost only source of work in San Mateo has been fishing, there are many the families who inherited this art from their ancestors, which has distinguished the parish for over the rest of the canton and the province; It is not intended to change the productive matrix of the sector, No, we just want to provide another alternative aimed above all at that youth talented who wants to dedicate herself to other work without having to leave her parish.
