Abstract: This study focused on analyzing how information management regulations are implemented and adhered to in the specific context of the Human Resources department of the Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí in 2024. The research arose from the growing interest in data protection and ethical information management in educational institutions, especially in sensitive areas such as Human Resources. The interest in carrying out this research work was based on the crucial importance of regulatory compliance in today's digital age. With the increase in regulations related to data protection and privacy, universities face the challenge of adapting their information management practices. This case study allowed us to closely examine how a specific educational institution addresses these challenges, which could provide valuable input applicable to other similar organizations. The research adopted a descriptive-exploratory methodological approach with correlational elements, using a qualitative perspective to understand in depth the current situation. Data collection techniques included interviews with semi-structured questions addressed to key personnel of the department. This approach allowed to obtain detailed information on daily practices, challenges faced and staff perceptions regarding regulatory compliance.
Description: El presente estudio se centró en analizar cómo se implementa y se adhiere a las normativas de manejo de información en el contexto específico del departamento de Recursos Humanos de la Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí en el año 2024. La investigación surgió del creciente interés en la protección de datos y la gestión ética de la información en instituciones educativas, especialmente en áreas sensibles como Recursos Humanos.
