Resumen : | The present study evaluated the effect of bovine manure leachate on the development, nutritional composition and soil properties in the cultivation of improved Savoy grass (Megathyrsus maximus) at the Lodana Experimental Farm, located in Santa Ana, Manabí. A completely randomized block design (DBCA) was used, applying a two-factor study, evaluating the influence of two factors: the dose of bovine manure leachate and the frequency of application. The doses considered were A1 (100 mL per liter of water) and A2 (200 mL per liter of water), while the application frequencies were B1 (every 8 days) and B2 (every 15 days). These combinations resulted in five treatments: A1B1 (100 mL/20 L every 8 days), A1B2 (100 mL/20 L every 15 days), A2B1 (200 mL/20 L every 8 days), A2B2 (200 mL/20 L every 15 days), and a no-app control (T0). The parameters analyzed included pasture height, number of regrowths, nutritional composition of the forage and chemical properties of the soil. The results of the experiment on the effect of bovine manure leachate on Savoy pasture showed significant differences in several variables (p<0.05). At 15 days, the A1B2 treatment (100 mL/15 days) had the highest height, while at 30 days, the A2B1 treatment (200 mL/8 days) had the highest average height (2.03 cm). Regarding the number of outbreaks, no significant differences were observed between treatments, although all showed an increase in the 30 days. The A2B1 treatment also obtained the highest biomass weight (879.75 g), surpassing the T0 treatment (without application). Previous soil analysis showed pH 6.9, with high nutrient retention capacity. Foliar analysis indicated an adequate protein (9.06%) and moisture (74.76%) content. The study concludes that the use of bovine manure leachate can be a key tool in forage production, as it not only promotes crop development and quality, but also improves soil fertility, thus contributing to the sustainability and productivity of livestock systems. |
