Evaluación de los niveles de iluminación de los espacios académicos de la Facultad de Educación, Turismo, Artes y Humanidades y de la Carrera de Psicología de la Uleam.

Abstract

This study allows to collect and analyze the lighting levels of the buildings corresponding to the Faculty of Education, Tourism, Arts and Humanities and the Psychology Degree through procedures and a calibrated device. This work is based on the Mexican regulation NOM – 025 – STPS – 2008, since the current Ecuadorian regulation is very old, making the lighting levels presented in it very low compared to foreign regulations, including the Mexican one. This Regulation was selected because it presents more positive characteristics compared to others. The method used for this study is the grid, since it allowed to calculate the average illuminance of each area to be measured, these range between 270 and 700 luxes; with the data obtained, it was possible to demonstrate partial compliance with the same regulation that is established between 300 luxes for offices and 500 luxes for classrooms, in addition to proposing improvement methodologies for spaces that did not comply with the regulation. The improvement proposal was compared with the current data for each building, allowing us to see whether or not its implementation is feasible. For both buildings, the proposal offers both economic and functional benefits, for example, in economic terms, there are savings of around $264.79 annually for one of the buildings studied and on the other hand, in terms of visual comfort, showing that the implementation of the improvement proposal presented is feasible.
